A wedding abroad has more moving parts. This timeline keeps the beauty side of it simple.

As soon as you have a date

  • Enquire early. Popular wedding dates in the Greek islands go quickly.
  • Share your date, your destination and where you’ll be getting ready.
  • Count how many people need hair and makeup, including mothers and bridesmaids.

Three months before

  • Settle into a skincare routine and stick to it.
  • Start saving inspiration photos, and note what you don’t like too.
  • Decide whether you’d like a trial, a video consultation, or both.

One month before

  • Send photos of your dress, veil, headpiece and jewellery.
  • Agree a timeline for the morning, working back from your first photos.
  • Avoid new facial treatments from now on. This is not the moment to experiment.

The week of the wedding

  • Plan your spray tan around your wedding day and your dress.
  • Drink plenty of water and be careful with the sun. A strap mark lasts longer than you’d think.
  • Pack your veil and accessories in your hand luggage.

On the morning

  • Choose a getting-ready room with good window light and a free power socket.
  • Start with clean skin and hair prepared the way your stylist advised.
  • Keep a little buffer in the schedule. It makes the whole morning calmer.
