The views are worth it. But the breeze on a cliffside terrace is real, and your hairstyle should be planned with it in mind.
Start with your venue
Tell your stylist exactly where your ceremony and photos will happen, and at what time. A clifftop terrace at sunset and a sheltered villa courtyard call for very different decisions.
Styles that handle the wind well
- Low buns and sculpted updos stay elegant even in a strong breeze.
- Half-up styles keep hair away from your face and lip gloss.
- Soft waves can absolutely work, with the right preparation and a realistic idea of how they’ll move.
Think about your veil
A long veil in the wind makes for unforgettable photos, but it also pulls on your hair. Ask where it should be anchored, and think about a shorter option or removing it once the ceremony is over.
Have a plan for the day
- Ask your photographer about sheltered spots and the best light.
- Keep a few spare pins and a small comb with someone close to you.
- Let the wind do some of the work. A little movement looks beautiful in photos.
